Técnico cria museu da Informática e oferece “viagem no tempo”

O rápido avanço da tecnologia tornou obsoletos equipamentos que há três décadas eram de última geração. Foi por meio dessa observação que o técnico Luiz Tiago Sampaio, de 38 anos, teve a ideia de criar o Museu da Informática de Limeira (SP). O objetivo é “reviver” computadores que tinham o tamanho de uma mala, aparelhos de fax, placas e processadores, entre outras peças. Ao todo, são 200 objetos e a maioria ainda funciona.

“É realmente uma viagem no tempo. Sobre os disquetes, por exemplo, muitas crianças e adolescentes nunca ouviram falar deles”, comentou. “Hoje em dia é comum ver pessoas se queixarem da lentidão dos aparelhos, até mesmo os portáteis, e pensei: há cerca de 20 anos, eles mal existiam. Os computadores eram muito mais lentos e e o acesso a eles extremamente difícil”, complementou o idealizador do projeto, que foi inaugurado neste mês.

Profissional da área de informática, ele viu de perto a escalada dos equipamentos e quis “registrar essa história” com a ótica de quem vive no Brasil. O memorial da informática tem, atualmente, cerca de 200 peças em exposição, entre os quais, 40 são computadores e metade deles ainda funciona.

O mais antigo data das décadas de 70 e 80, Osborne One, um dos primeiros portáteis no mundo todo. “A máquina pesa cerca de 13 quilos e tem o tamanho de uma mala, o que dificultava o trabalho dos técnicos em campo, por exemplo”, lembrou Sampaio. O museu tem também modelos fabricados no Brasil como o TK-90X e outras máquinas que ainda eram alimentadas com informações por meio de disquetes ou linhas de comando. Os computadores mais novos do acervo são os Macintosh, com mais de 25 anos de existência e em pleno funcionamento.
O memorial guarda também outros itens como placas, processadores, válvulas, disquetes, programas (softwares) e outros hardwares (equipamentos). Quase todo o acervo foi adquirido pelo idealizador do projeto com recursos próprios. “O investimento nos primeiros equipamentos ficou em torno de R$ 20 mil”.
